“Ignorance is perceiving the non-eternal, impure, evil and what is not soul, to be eternal, pure, good and the soul” ― Patanjali, The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali
During this conversation, we dive deeper into the waters of delusion. The delusion that is often generated from an illusion created internally and/or externally. It is the individual and collective delusion the "ignorance" that clouds the human perception and gives him a false sense of reality. Then, we will examine the practices of retaining objective awareness and a clear mind.
After you create the space to receive and be from the above segment. Take a few minutes to head into the kitchen to practice of objective awareness with an open heart and clear mind by cooking a meal for yourself. When we create the space to prepare food and share it with self and others, there is a balanced exchange with all things within the practice of nourishing self and others.
One of the greatest teachings I received from my parents was the value of sitting down for a meal and preparing food together. It is an opportunity to pause together, have meaningful conversations and work together. We were taught to do our part and learn all the skills required: from setting the table, preparing the food, dining together, prayer and giving thanks, cleaning up and communicating with others. These are invaluable life skills that will serve you in your personal and professional life. Furthermore, you can create this experience with yourself and others.
As inspired, I encourage you to create the space to partake in all aspects of preparing a meal and dining with objective awareness. The value of this practice is that it will assist you coming into the present moment and identify ‘what is.’ The delusion will quickly fade away and the reflective mirrors (aka family and friends) more than not ensure the ego softens, heart opens and mind clears.
This weeks food offering takes the shape of a recipe that I have made from Peru. I have deep love for the culture and friends I know from Peru. Coupled with my love for the jungle, power of the food and nature offered as our medicine. All of which have reached many places around the globe as our faithful guide to explore our inner and outer landscapes.
Enjoy…sT
