Soul Query
Are you at peace? If not, where is the disharmony from within you. First, you want to identify these areas in your mental, emotional and physical bodies. Then, observe where and how you are grasping to pacify, numb, avoid and/or mask your inner disharmony. Ask your self, why am I in disharmony? Why do I grasp and avoid what is ready to be healed?
After, you have identified the answers to this inquiry or simply asked the questions. Create space to be present with the response from within. Oftentimes, when you locate these inner imbalances you will have emotions like grief or anger that are ready to be released. It is most common for the soul to carry grief and anger forward. This is why it is important to make peace everyday and let go of harboring any ill will towards yourself and/or others.
Liver Season, anger, in the Northern Hemisphere and Lung Season, grief, in the Southern Hemisphere. The seasonal emotional remedies and practices for anger and grief are simple to understand intellectually; yet, take a willingness to practice.
Anger is a potent emotion filled with many facets, all of which are important to understand, accept and make peace with. This is a process best examined from the inside out. The past remains fixed and one’s attention is best spent in digesting what was and being present with what is. The digestion will lead you to a path of letting go and authentically finding peace. The daily remedy for anger is the practice of patience for any and all anger that rises up with you. Sometimes, this is easier said than done. However, you will find the more you lean into the pause, breath and space around you, patience will have more room to stand by your side. It is the act of being patient that reduces that amount of unnecessary outbursts and helps keep you out of the realms of h e double hockey sticks. Ultimately, your inner mastery of patience will help you stay in harmony with you and all your relations.
Grief is an emotion that can stick to you like glue and creates mucous in the lungs. The mucous is your friend as it wants to help move the grief up and out of your system. This is not by accident that the lungs and grief work hand in hand. In addition, the anger is part of the grieving process because the liver is our amazing allay to help us naturally remove toxicity. The simple practices when grief rises is to allow the energy to flow, the helpfulness of your tears, water and salt, purify and cleanse the grief with the opportunity to call upon joy, laughter, to guide you out of the sorrow into the waves of happiness. With skillful means and discipline you will learn how joy can help you stop all roads leading to despair and angry eruptions.
As inspired, practice patience, call upon joy and laugh often.
Spring and Fall Friend. Licorice Root. The more and more I sit with sharing what the plants have to offer all of us, I hesitate to say it will do this or that. This is for many reasons. The most important one is you are unique and what works for you might not work for another and/or you might be taking other herbs, foods and prescriptions that have a contraindication with this root and/or others. Yet, I will share this root is very gentle and if you like the flavor, it is one to keep on hand.
The licorice root is expectorant and will clear excess mucus from the upper and lower airways, aka lungs. In addition, licorice root helps heal a fatty liver and regenerate the liver. While simultaneously balance out breathing issues that originate from hormonal, digestive and lung imbalances. There is long list of other potential benefits from the use of the licorice root. If you want to learn more, send me a message below or via email.
Here is one study on the Effects of licorice root supplementation on liver enzymes, hepatic steatosis, metabolic and oxidative stress parameters in women with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease: A randomized double-blind clinical trial.
